The day started as any other, we got to work, agreed to arrange everything that was necessary in a couple of hours then head to Banská Bystrica and conquer the mountain the next day.
Well, it did not go as planned. The meetings were not going well, we ended up leaving past 1:30 pm, yet we still felt confident that we could make it to the destination on time.
The road Nr.2 was a struggle all the way. It was packed with trucks with little possibility of overtaking any. Ok, at least not comfortably.
We made it to the border and that’s when we had our first culture shock. The other drivers were so nice to the bikers, both direction, giving enough space in the middle of the road, that we surprised ourselves and made it to Bystrica by 4 pm. We decided to go closer to the mountain and set our eyes on Brezno.

Just before arriving there we saw this view and without much discussion we decided to go for it. We turned left from road 36 to 72, and headed for Poprad. It was like a dream. Only a few car, several biker and corner after corner with a beautiful view in the orange color right before the sunset.
We stopped at a gas station on road 18 and found out that Poprad did not have any place for us to stay with the bikes secured, so we made a plan, that although it’s a stretch, let’s get to Zakopane, where we can rest a bit more next morning as well.
We arrived at 8 pm in the dark but we knew the road is perfect for another round. We saw a bear and several foxes on the side of the road, that got us alarmed so we postponed it to the next day
The next day
We had breakfast at the hotel, and we wanted to check the roads during daylight as well, so we went back to the border between Poland and Slovakia and started the day from there.

We made a nice trip at the feet of the Tatra and headed towards road 7 to climb the mountain a couple more times.
Road 7, then 70 was awesome. Not too heavy traffic and a lot of fun with long and sudden curves coming one after the other. We caught a bit of rain so we had to stop for 10-15 minutes, then we arrived to road 14. Finally. We have been waiting for this the entire day.

This was the best road during the whole trip. It takes you from the side of the mountain to the middle valley that goes towards the ski paradise. We went back and forth at least 10 times before it started to get dark again.
The accommodation for the day was at the top so we went up there and had our dinner in the beautiful view over Ruzomberok.

The last day was pretty normal. We thought we’ll be going back the way we came up here, but I could not pass on the opportunity to ride on road 14 again, and again, and again, so we took the road south towards Esztergom.
