Noone ever just woke up one day knowing their trade. You have to keep practicing, it saves your life on the long run
After several training and track-day we finally had the chance to learn from a professional rider. The experience was new and the bike felt quite unfamiliar despite the thousands of kilometers we’ve been through together.

On the previous RILI trainings we were studying the ways of making the corner the safe way even on unfamiliar roads and non-ideal conditions.
This time it was about finding the optimal path, moving around on the bike and improving our visual skills.
After two hours of riding we finally started to get the hang of it, although we knew we have a long way to go and a lot of practice to do.

Once we got comfortable with the lean angles and hanging on the bike, we got into the topic of trail-breaking, but to tell you the trough, I did not feel it at that time.
Towards the end of the training day I started to think: “How am I ever going to use this on the road?”

The answer came a couple of days later, when I was driving in the city of Budapest, (Note: We are driving on the right side.) and a pickup truck, not giving priority, started turning left to the road, but could not due to traffic.
It was evident then and there, that there is no way I can stop before hitting the side of the car, so the only thing left, turning where the truck came from.
Unconsciously I started trail-breaking and moved to the right side of the bike to reduce the lean angle necessary to make that corner. Once in the corner I started releasing the front break pressure and I was able to make the corner without any problem.
Always keep on practicing and check out the other trainings I’ve been to under the Trainings menu
