I have a bag I pre-pack after every trip to make sure I have everything with me that I might need for the next trip.
It’s a good idea to have a waterproof bag on your bike to make sure everything is in working order when you need it the most.
On the road
For the bike

Spray to fix defects
It’s not enough to repair the tire, but gives you enough time to get to a garage where they can change or fix the tire

Chain lube
For the road I take a smaller pack that is enough to use in the evenings especially after riding in the rain.
If you feel your chain is too dirty, you can use a rug or a tooth brush to get it in shape before applying the grease

Zip lock and Duck-tape
If there is any sort of accident, many times it can be fixed with the most basic equipments.
You know what they say:
- Does it move?
- Yes.
- Should it?
- No.
- Duck-tape

Of course, sometimes you can simply glue it, those times the Zip lock comes in handy

Tool kit
I have the most basic set, it was a gift from a friend, but I’m never leaving without it.
- wire cutters
- needle nose pliers
- Allen key set
- 2 x electrical screwdrivers
- extension bar
- screwdriver bit set
- socket set 5 mm – 11 mm

Fuses
One of the most common problem I have encountered with is getting a blown fuse.
If you are at a gas station, that is great, you can just buy it there.
If you are not, it’s quite frustrating to push the bike in the rain until you can get one.

First aid kit and Visibility coat
First, it’s mandatory in many countries, if you are riding cross-country, better have one with me.
Make sure you are buying the one for motorcycles
For me

Rain suit or dress
You can buy it at any shop, make sure it is loose enough to go over your boots.
I actually prefer the suit, but the dress has it’s perks too.
The dress can be worn separately as well, in case there’s only a light rain and you need only the coat, or you are riding in some dirt and want to protect the pants.
The suit is more waterproof and usually fitted with straps to hold it in place better.
At home

Chain cleaner and grease
At home I have the full set. The big one.
I clean the bike after every trip, but in general after every 500 km you should be cleaning the chain.
